I use up to five systems a day to look up patient information working in a busy hospital emergency department. Countless times in the evening or on weekends I need to repeat studies conducted at outpatient radiology clinics because we have no way to access them except by phoning the clinic on Monday morning. I used to have access to medical records from other health authorities but Fraser Health moved to a new system not used by other health authorities which only catalogs some data from other health authorities–I need to ask college physicians who work in VCH to log in to ConnectCare to look up stuff about my patient because as a solely FH physician I no longer have access to Connect Care. I work in AB as well and their system is so much more integrated, efficient and useful.
